The Prophet has been a legendary force in the hardstyle genres for years on end. His emergence on the scene in the 1983 evolved from hip hop to house and eventually to the hard bass music he is well-known for today. He officially began producing hardstyle and hardcore around the mid-90s, when he joined two other DJs to form what was known as The Dreamteam. Since then, he has released numerous tracks and mixed CDs on Scantraxx, Cloud 9, ID&T and of course Q-dance. This year saw the release of his FIRST full-length album entitled LOUDER. If you would like a copy for yourself, please enter our contest for a giveaway of his new album! It’s been a few years since The Prophet made an album, so it is not surprising that his 2014 piece includes a solid 21 track listing. From the beginning to the end, listeners are taken on an epic musical journey of different flavors and sounds that make LOUDER one of the more unique listens this year. Every style from raw, euphoric to hardcore and gabber are all thrown in to make a cohesive and banging piece of art! The album starts off quite strong with “Tracking the Beat” and from there song after song hit the speakers with pounding bass that is characteristic of his sound.
There are a handful of collaborations including one with Noisecontrollers, another with relative newcomers; Audiotricz and Rob Gee. He also features some sick remixes by Bass Modulators and The Masochist & MC Axys. LOUDER also features a great variety in sound; vocal tracks featuring both female and male singers, reverse bass and high bpms are all included and make for a truly comprehensive education in hardstyle 101 from the best “professor” in the genre.
LOUDER is an unadulterated display of The Prophet’s wide-range of musical knowledge that he has honed over decades of being a dj and producer. His focus on heavier bass kicks fully illustrates the title of the album and demonstrates why he will remain on top of the hardstyle game for many years to come. Along with his newest release comes a multi-city tour which includes none other than NYC’s home of hardstyle- Amazura Concert Hall in Queens. He will be throwing down TOMORROW night, be sure to grab your tickets now!
