Jon Gooch, who is better known by one of his monikers, FEED ME has returned with a vengeance from his brief hiatus after the release of Calamari Tuesday. Fans were expectedly disappointed with his announcement of a personal break from music and touring but, of course were anxiously waiting for some form of a come back into the scene. 2014 is that year- just a couple of weeks ago Feed Me’s Psychedelic Journey was released on Sotto Voice and features four smashing tracks that are sure to quench any die hard fan’s thirst from the past year!
The titles of some of the songs say it all- FEED ME truly took the “Time for (Him)self” to really craft a beautiful and hard-hitting album that stays true to his sounds. “Patience,” the first track off the EP is nothing less than a banger and features an intro/buildup that is all too familiar in that it makes one so excited to hear what the middle and end of the track will dish out. “Alarm Clock” has a dancier melody and is sure to keep everyone on the dancefloor when he drops it during his tour. Finally, “Without Gravity” brings the EP full circle with a more soothing yet bass heavy sound.
In a time where many artists are dabbling in new sounds and genres, FEED ME’S Psychedelic Journey breaks the current mold by delivering the defining characteristics that make FEED ME such a well-known and loved artist. Along with the new EP comes a tour that shares the same name, stayed tuned next week for more info! In the meantime, be sure to grab your copy now, links to purchase are below as well as a link to soundcloud where you can stream the album in its entirety.
Official Press Release:
In May, Feed Me revealed the return of his newly enhanced Teeth show and plans for a new EP on Sotto Voce. Today he gives all his fans what they’ve all been waiting for, with his hard hitting four track EP titled Feed Me’s Psychedelic Journey.
Representing the intrinsic mind of Feed Me, while taking time off the road, “Feed Me’s Psychedelic Journey ” reflects the raw emotions of consideration, recuperation, awakening and transcendence. Time for Myself is filled with screeching synth patterns, blindsided by twists and turns paired with energetic bass.
“‘Patience’ is my frustration at having to stop, and a reflection on the past. ‘Time For Myself’ is a reconnection with my energy and humour. ‘Alarm Clock’ is a stride into new territory and a reminder of why I love what I do, and ‘Without Gravity’ is being comfortable in my skin again.” – Feed Me
“Feed Me’s Psychedelic Journey” is in conjunction with his new Teeth show, startingAugust 2nd in New York at Terminal 5, and will travel across North America through the middle of September with support from Treasure Fingers, Delta Heavy, Le Castle Vania, as well as Sotto Voce artists Tjani and Zeros on select dates.
