Official Press Release:
This week, record label HARD with STYLE releases more than 60 back-catalogue tracks of hardstyle DJ & producer Headhunterz. The Origins project is Headhunterz’ ode to the past, and shows the growth that both he and his HARD With STYLE brand have gone through. For the following 36 weeks, on ‘Throwback Thursday’, the label will highlight 8 years’ worth of Headhunterz productions and collaborations.
Willem Rebergen, better known as Headhunterz, had his first release under his alias in 2006. In the meantime, he has released three ground-breaking artist albums and became DJ Mag’s highest ranked hardstyle DJ in history. But he also witnessed the rise of his HARD with STYLE label and brand, which has a loyal following all across the globe. With his latest crossover collaboration – ‘Shocker’ with W&W – having just come out, Headhunterz feels it’s time to look ahead. But not without honoring the past and show his fans how it all started.
Headhunterz:”It’s amazing to have my back-catalogue part of my very own label, it’s something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. With Origins, we introduce everyone to the story behind the music, on to the birth of HARD with STYLE. We go deeper. It’s like a diary of music, a reflection on my career so far. Like every creative person, I always feel the need to evolve and keep challenging myself and my creative potential. Releasing the back-catalogue is my way of honoring my roots, and at the same time acknowledging my growth as a person, my taste as a listener and my potential as a producer. And that means moving on in life – and moving on, on the musical path.”
