The loudest Party in Mannheim on St. Nikolaus Day (Nikolaustag in German) was definitly at the Maimarkthalle for the sixth edition of Toxicator. This year the event set a new attendance record with 11,600 visitors which celebrated across three different dance floors. Undrgrnd Sound was there and is reporting for you!
The ticket to Toxicator included free transportation within the local area by bus and train. So I didn’t even need to buy a ticket for traveling to this event. Already at the train I had met the first fans of the “Harder Style” who were also en route to Toxicator. On my way from the train station to the Maimarkthalle I could already hear the bass pumping. So, my anticipation for this event was rising every minute. I-motion has organized this festival very well, so everybody was able to enter without waiting too long in front of the venue.
Once inside, I visited all three floors. Every floor was complex, equipped with LEDs, video and laser technology. The vibe was even enhanced by special effects like pyrotechnics. Most of the time I was dancing on the hard techno floor, which was the smallest of them all. But I also listened to Anime on the hard core floor. The young DJane got the crowd going crazy by her sound. Most of the DJs took some time to connect with their fans after they finished playing their gigs. So Toxicator was a chance for many lovers of the “Harder Style” to get in touch with their music idols. For eleven hours (the party lasted until about 7A.M.) people were able to celebrate the music of over 30 top DJs and live acts from seven different countrys. Even if I didn’t stay that long I had a really good time at Toxicator. So I can recommend every fan of this music genre to visit this event next year.
