Mord Fustang is definitely known as a pioneer in electronic music; with his signature sound that melds a plethora of different genres, he has paved a unique path for himself over the years. Hailing from Estonia, he quickly rose in popularity in 2011 when he broke into the scene with an insane number of releases. Most of which appeared on Beatport’s Top 100 Chart, namely “The Electric Dream” and “Lick the Rainbow.” It goes without saying that it’s hard to categorize Mord Fustang since his tracks tend to be experimental and draw influences from all over. Though, it must be noted that he released two dubstep tracks before signing to the Plasmapool label.

After much success and tons of touring, Mord Fustang has finally delivered what his anxious fans have wanted: his first studio album entitled 9999 IN 1. All 10 tracks are packed with diversity and bumping beats sure to keep listeners grooving throughout. What’s even more amazing is that it abandons current trends in the EDM market; there is absolutely no big room or fist-pumping qualities here! Rather, Mord Fustang takes a more chill and dancey approach which is all the more refreshing. Notably “Dopplegangbanger” goes against what most EDM fans are looking for- there is no drop, it’s just constant ascension that teases but still pleases. “Pop” is another fun tune that features cutesy, bubblegum vocals from LIINKS. He even makes sure to deliver some harder-edged material with “Milky Way” and “PRESS START!” which include some dubstep wobbles and bass.
If you’re looking for a fresh take on electronic music, be sure to check out Mord Fustang’s newest masterpiece. This talented artist manages to bring chip tunes, glitch, dubstep and a bunch of synth power into one cohesive and brilliant album. Hopefully tour dates will be released so 9999 IN 1 can be experienced live!
